Christmas in May – funnily enough, it seems to be a thing! It’s the time of year when indie dyers start prepping for Christmas and their Advent yarns go on sale. Last year I was fortunate to get my hands on a beautiful Mad Scientist Yarns advent and I’m excited to see what Michelle & Scott whip up this year. If you’d managed to get your mitts on an Advent kit from your favourite dyer, these are some patterns you can start dreaming about until December 25th.

This dress featured on my list of patterns that made me want to learn to knit and is the first one I’ve made- not bad for only knitting a year and a half. I was so pleased to wear this out on my 30th birthday this year and the ombre Blue to Red fade makes this frock POP. I’m already imagining all the other colourways I can incorporate into this flexible pattern.

A brioche dream! The Delkash makes use of two-colour brioche so that the colours are completely reversible! Grab a contrasting skein and get stuck in. I think this is what my 2021 advent yarns will be made into!
