Its that time of year, when our hands start to suffer from the cold. If you’re an obsessive crafter like myself, then you’ll understand the importance of looking after your hands so that the knitting and crochet fun never have to end. Whip up these Delicate Wrist Warmers in no time and keep them for yourself, or make as a last minute Christmas gift for someone special!

PS – worried about hand health? Here are some exercises you can try to keep your fingers nimble!

This project is great for using up scraps of yarn in your stash – both wrist warmers require less than one 100g ball of your main colour yarn and only 10-20g of a contrasting colour. You could even mix and match multiple colours as you see fit. For these wristwarmers I used Stylecraft Special DK from my stash with some gold sparkly Ricorumi DK for a bit of festive glam – ’tis the season, after all!

Have you seen the Snowflake Poncho? Originally published by the one-and-only Bella Coco herself, these wrist warmers (and matching cowl) are the ultimate in matchy-matchy warmth.

You will need:

Abbreviations [US terms given in bold]:

Ch – Chain

Ch-sp(s) – Chain space(s)

Tr – Treble [double]

Ttr – Triple treble [double treble]

Dc – Double crochet [single]

St(s) – Stitch(es)

Notes:

  • Pattern is written in UK terms.
  • Wrist warmers are created by crocheting an easy rectangle then sewing it into shape.
  • When you finish, instead of sewing up your pieces, turn your work so the wrong side is facing outwards and double crochet to where you need the pieces to be joined. It saves so much time!
