The original Call the Midwife blanket is one of my favourite crochet blanket patterns. I made one a year ago for my expectant friend and it was a huge hit! I love the filet crochet and I was itching to adapt this for my own baby- my fur baby, Lucie.

— This blanket is suitable for a beginner and uses very simple filet crochet using a mix of UK TR/US DC and chain spaces, to create the pawprint look.
Yarn Requirements:
— Aran or DK yarn. I used Paintbox Simply Aran in Sailor Blue. Approximately 400g will make your blanket 7 repeats tall. (800-1000 yards)
Hooks:
— 5mm hook (for Aran version)
— 4mm (for DK version)
Other Materials:
— Tapestry needle to weave in ends
— Scissors
