It was Easter Sunday yesterday and I kept thinking how cool it would be, if instead of Easter Eggs, someone hid eggs filled with yarn for me to find. Here’s a list of dyers I’d love to find skeins from…

Turning 30 in lockdown isn’t going to be anything like I’d planned. It looks like I’ll be either cooped up indoors, or adhering to the rule of 6 outdoors (provided that date doesn’t get pushed back before the 19th May). So while I can’t have my friends around, how wonderful would it be if they could all contribute to a pool and that bought mini skeins that could be hidden around my parents garden for me to find?

30 (or more) mini skeins that I could then make into something commemorative to mark yet another socially distanced birthday.

#1 – Mad Scientist Yarns

Obviously starting with my yarn bestie, my coffee-machine-extravagant-purchase-enabler Michelle and her husband Scott. I love all of their yarn. While both of them aren’t quite mad, their yarn is and I love the vibrant colours and combinations they come out with.

#2 – The Wool Shed

This Easter, Liv conjoured up some amazing Mini Egg-themed mini skeins that are perfect for any soft, pastelly project.

#3 – The Discrete Unicorn

Miriam is my spirit animal. I love all of her fantasy-coloured yarns. Reminiscent of unicorns, mermaids and mythical beasts.

#4 – Vicki Brown Designs

I’m trying to persuade Vicki to dye me some automation-themed racking yarn… but her collection is way too colourful and bright.

#5 – Snuggly Stars Yarn

Gemma does what she says on the tin – she’s a Star who makes the Snuggliest of yarns. I love the contrasting compositions she comes out with.

#6 – Woolly Mama Yarns

Kassy dyes the most girly, colourful cocktails of yarn. I’m a sucker for a speckle, and all of her yarn is a speckled dream.

#7 – Truly Hooked

Verity dyes amazing themed yarn. I fell in love with her Super Chunky, but she’s released some 4ply’s based off of Tiger King and the names are too funny and the yarn is equally awesome!

#8 – Lockwood Fibre

Emily’s yarns all have gorgeous etherial names. They’ll have you thinking about wiccan practices and witches and wizards. They’re simply magical!

#9 – James Makes Yarn

Here come the boys! Doing men everywhere proud, James has dipped his toes into yarn dyeing with unparalleled success! If you weren’t coveting his knitting skills, you’ll be coveting his gorgeous yarns.

#10 – Wildflower Yarn

Caoife is known for her Unicorn Poop colourway – but I love her Kitschy Christmas colourways.
