The Facts:
❗️ I did an extra pattern repeat on account of my long torso and it hits perfectly after blocking
❗️the sleeves flick out A LOT and after perusing Rav, it seems I’m not the only one with this problem. I added elastic into my sleeves so they bunch up a bit around my arms - while slightly cutting off my circulation, I’m not mad about it but DO wish the pattern was written a bit better. I might go modify them later (perhaps with a crochet edging or some additional decreases) but I just wanted this pattern DONE.
❗️neckline also pokes out a bit but I feel blocking helped this A LOT.
❗️ Overall 7/10 on the happiness index 😀

So this is my Lady Fingers Sweater by @morthunder - completely inspired by @jamesmakesthings and his (quite frankly) unrivalled skill in choosing colours.

The second slide shows the original post of his that I fell in love with, all the way from 2020, and his Coffee Shop Collection. The colours just oozed autumnal coffee shop vibes and the vision for my sweater fell into place.

I couldn’t get hold of all the skeins from the original collection so ended up pairing his Chai Latte ☕️ colourway with his Black Forest Gateau 🩷 yarn from a later collection, and over the years added some extras from @madscientistyarns 🖤 @pickle.and.twist 💛 and @dinas_home_of_crafts ❤️ I’ll post more details in my next post.

All in all, my yarn collection took me 4 years to compile, and the knitting whizzed by fairly quickly. How similar do you think my colour choices are to James’ original palette? This is definitely in my top 5 favourite sweaters!

From Florida to Georgia, and now Oregon: my knitwear journey is a colourful tale of learning. Sometimes, it’s about finding the right yarn, not just the colours 🌈 🧶

This is the Sheer V Sweater by @jessssiemae - and you’ll realise the “sheer” isn’t really sheer…
•
That’s because I fell in love with two yarns- the first being @beachbunnyyarns in a shade called “My Happy Place” that I purchased at @suncoastyarns while on my galivants around Florida.
•
Worried that the beautiful yellow tones of the yarn would wash me out (albeit gorgeous, those shades were NOT hitting my colour wheel recommendations) I decided to pair the yarn with a lovely Suri Silk fluff from @republica_unicornia_yarns in Georgia. This is where the mishap happened, as I was drawn more to colours than to the designers yarn recommendations which would have left me with more sheerness in the front, rather than a distinctive pink V 🩷

Now don’t get me wrong, I ADORE my colour choices and LOVE this sweater, but I’m still doubting the V. Maybe it’s because *i know* I made a faux pas, or maybe it’s because I don’t think it stands out too much either. I’ve been toying with the idea of duplicate stitching over the V just to make it one single coloured sweater, but I can’t decide 🤔

This sweater is getting a lot of wear either way! But what do you think? Duplicate over or keep it as is? Let me know below! 🩷

Find yourself friends who make you feel like you’re at home on the other side of the world (literally!) - thank you to this wonderful badass woman who lent me her car, gave me her bed, took me for doughnuts, drove me for a 6am coffee, woke up at 5:15 to get me to the airport, drove me across my 48th state line, took me to the beach, supervised me hiking and NOT ONCE did she do any of it begrudgingly, and she ALWAYS had a smile on her face. ❤️

If you don’t know or follow Kate, she is a talented photographer and a superstar traveller and her insta is FULL of inspiration. She’s an inspirational human, PERIOD. I am so lucky to know her and have her in my life. ❤️
